Creating an environment that yields opportunities to collect formative data can include both tech and non-tech instructional methods, allowing for opportunities for engagement and touchpoints to continually "take a temperature" on student learning.
Blended Learning Model
In a Blended Learning model, both tech and non-tech approaches are leveraged for instruction, student-led experiences, and technology-led engagement.
Flipped Classroom Model
As described in the video link here, in a Flipped Classroom model, students learn the lesson independently, with the teacher as facilitator, typically at home, through a video or infographic. The teacher is free to address specific student needs in guided or strategy small groups. Students can continue with practice in small groups and at their own pace until "mastery learning" is achieved.
